Saughall Methodist Church

The redundant pipe organ has been sold, it's new home - following extensive rennovation will be at Swinton Church, Berwickshire on the Scottish borders. We are taking this opprtunity to refresh the internal paintwork and essential external windows paintwork. During this work we shall be using the Methodist Hall for worship at our normal time.

Redundant Organ c1850 for Sale

We have a redundant pipe organ for sale, we now using an electric organ. It is being offered to sale due to our new building project. The organ came from Barrow Methodist Church around 25 years ago following it's closure. Barrow, had a membership of just six prior to it's closure including twin sisters who were by then in their eighties. They could both play the organ, but they could only manage six hymns. The organ was built by their father around 1850, it was transported to Saughall and professionally reinstalled. We now use an electric organ as it allows us to use pre-recorded music, however the pipe organ still sounds wonderfully charming. We are planning an organ recital evening in advance of it's sale. Graham Jones of the Methodist Organ Advisory Services is advertising the organ on behalf of our church. Click here to see a pdf of the advert and here to see more images of the organ.
